This Place Has Gone to the Birds

Welcome to Goulburn, Australia’s answer to the Midwest – a town where shopping trolleys linger longer than dreams. This Place Has Gone to the Birds is our wry, entry-level ode to the absurd beauty of the everyday whilst working with Creative Space. Think discarded toilet paper, concrete poetry, and birds having existential crises.

It’s modern Douglas Coupland meets Harmony Korine – sharp, reflective, and unapologetically local. With its dry humour and subtle commentary, this short film based on ten stills captures the spirit of Goulburn’s streets, corners, and quirks.

Catch it now and see our town through a different lens.

Picket Fence: The Illusion of the Australian Dream

Rough, raw, and real—this is the Australian dream, flipped on its head.

Shot in just three days in Condobolin, NSW, Picket Fence was created in collaboration with Indigenous youth from Lachlan Shire Youth Services as part of the Play Now Act Now program. Led by Victoria Waghorn / Punk Monk Propaganda, this mobile film dives into the unspoken realities of regional Australia—youth, struggle, and survival in a world that doesn’t always deliver on its promises.

Awarded 2nd place at the NSW Mental Health Awards, Picket Fence is a stark reminder that not all fences are built to keep people safe—some just keep them out.

The Australian Dream, Overgrown – Behind the picket fence, the illusion of suburban perfection unravels. A forgotten child, a neglected yard—silent echoes of a home lost to addiction.
